TV Over Fireplace Dallas

TV over fireplace. In the picture below we mounted a Samsung 55” on a brick fireplace located in Dallas TX.

home theater, home cinema, home theatre, boardroom projector, home automation, universal remote, URC, Total Control, projector and screen,

This client has a BluRay and AT&T U-verse that had to be connected to the TV. One thing that we would like to let those who have AT&T U-verse know is that the box that AT&T U-verse says is wireless is not. The AT&T U-verse wireless box has a wireless connection i.e. does not have to have a coax (cable) or Cat5e (voice/data line) ran to the box. It does still have to have power and an HDMI to the TV. Below is an image of the AT&T U-verse wireless box.

One good thing about the AT&T U-verse wireless box is that it is small and can be installed behind the TV. In most cases the remote will still work without having to install an additional IR kit. With this installation the AT&T U-verse wireless box is mounted behind the TV and the BluRay Player is in the cabinet to the left. We installed a power kit behind the TV that is plugged into a surge protector by the BluRay Player. All lines are ran behind the brick and hidden in wall.

Note for those looking to install their TV over fireplace – The difference between mounting a TV on wall and over a fireplace depends on how the fireplace was built. One thing that we run into is clients with real fireplaces. What I mean by that is a fireplace that is solid brick from top to bottom. This is uncommon now a days and it is more common to make the fireplace look like it is brick. There are a few ways to check, the easiest is to look up the flue. If it is brick all the way up it is a real brick fireplace, if it shrinks to a metal tube then there is a good chance that it is just made to look like a solid brick fireplace. This clients system is also part of a home automation setup. We installed a URC Total Control system that allows for one remote to control not only all the things connected to this system but all other rooms TV’s, BluRay Players, cable boxes and lights. The home theater has also been connected so that it can be controlled as part of the home automation. Please give us a call if we can help you in any way.
